Full-Time Student
Performance Data
National Measures: The
national student performance data collected includes the SAT and ACT, summary data on students performance on the ASVAB, and
the number of National Merit finalists from our school.
Over the past five years approximately
80% of our students completed the SAT and/or the ACT.
Over the last three years we have seen
increase in the number of students completing these tests. Students’ overall performance levels on both the SAT and
the ACT have remained steady. Student performance on the ASVAB has been increasing in accuracy
with an increase in military interest.
Over the last three years we have seen
increased interest in the military and climbing qualifying test scores for entrance into all four branches of the armed services. To date, Texas Preparatory Academy(to be shown as TPA) has had four students achieve a perfect score of
99 on this test battery. Texas Preparatory Academy is also proud to claim a 1 out of
4 National Merit Finalist since 2000-2001.
State Measures: Statewide assessments of student learning in reading, writing and mathematics were initiated in the school’s
third year through the use of the Stanford Achievement Test. All students
in attendance are required to take this test.
The percentage of students exceeding standards
established by Texas increases with each year with more and more students returning. It
has been noted that grades at graduation are remarkably higher when a student enrolls at an earlier age, therefore, spending
more time in the Texas Prep environment.
School Performance-based
Measures: The performance-based assessment system developed by Texas
Preparatory Academy includes the following areas of learning: English/language
arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, physical education and health, and foreign languages. The assessment task and scoring guides have been jointly developed by the faculty. Comparison of
student's performance over the past five years reveals little difference in the area of electives, however, there are
gradual inclines in student performance in the core academic areas.
